Amidst everything going on, it feels a bit trivial to be writing about beauty products. But maybe you’re in the same boat as me and want to feel sort of put together while at home. If that’s the case, I have three products I’ve been using for a few months now that have seriously impressed me. Plus, they all have great ratings with the Environmental Working Group! Read on for my new favorite natural beauty products.
Honest Beauty Extreme Length Mascara
I’ve been wanting to try this mascara for a solid year. But the price tag is twice what I normally pay for mascara so the frugal part of me took awhile to win over. I finally pulled the trigger in January and I’m so glad I did! It is worth the $16 price and then some. My family genetics run strong with short, puny lashes. Honest Beauty Extreme Length Mascara + Lash Primer is the closest I’ve gotten to false eyelashes without having to actually wear false eyelashes. Plus, as a girl who can’t go anywhere without an eyelash curler, I have actually had success with this mascara without curling my eyelashes first. That’s right, the brush is so good you can push your lashes up like they are curled. If you have straight lashes, you know the envy when you see someone use mascara without curling first. Now we can join that club.
Beauty by Earth Self Tanner
Did you ever watch the Saturday morning cartoon Recess as a kid? Pale kids all over the world are rejoicing in this Beauty by Earth Self Tanner. It doesn’t smell. I repeat, it does NOT smell like a tanning lotion. And it’s safe for you. How do they do that?! As if that’s not enough, it works. I’ve been using it on Saturdays and Sundays when I take more time getting ready and I’m tan all week. Even tanner than the sun can get my pale limbs. Plus, it’s a natural tan, not on the orange side like Jergens has left me in the past. And if you still need to be convinced, this product has thousands of 5-star reviews.
Supergoop Mattescreen 40 SPF
I first purchased this mineral SPF primer a couple years ago when I was looking for a quality sunscreen for my face. It surprised me that it was tinted but I fell in love with how velvety smooth it left my face. Now that I’m home everyday and not doing my makeup much, I love putting this on! It smooths out my complexion and protects my face when I go out for walks. It’s the perfect no-makeup makeup product! Note, this is not a moisturizer with SPF so I still apply vitamin C serum and moisturizer before finishing with this product.
