This Friday my department is having our holiday party with white elephant gifts. I’m not one to go for the crude or stupid-funny gifts so I thought I’d make something a little more cute-funny. We’ve had a lot of changes within our company this year and our whole department is a mixture of previous separate ones, so I figured we could all use some survival items. An Office Survival Kit is extremely easy and inexpensive to make. A trip to the dollar store and a few items from your house will provide everything you need.
Office Survival Kit items:
Highlighter – to help you look on the bright side
Paperclip – to help you hold it all together
Penny – to share your thoughts
Rubber band – to remember to stay flexible
Marbles – to replace the ones you’ve lost 😉
String – for when you get to the end of your rope
Smarties – to remember how smart you are
Eraser – to remind you that everyone makes mistakes
Sponge – to help you continue to soak up knowledge
Starbursts – for a burst of energy to get through one more meeting

We had a festive coffee mug from a gift last year so I recycled it to hold the office survival kit. I then printed out the kit info below and taped it to the mug before putting it in a gift bag.
There are a lot of different survival kits on Pinterest. Many of my items were from varying kits I saw and some I made up myself. Once you get the creative juices going, the dollar store seems like a never ending resource!
~~For other easy gifts around the office, check out my post from a previous year. There are some clever puns and edible coal (which is really tasty!).
Great idea!
