Well it’s the end of July. Summer might be coming closer to an end but I’m not sure staying home is. Tell me I’m not the only one spending my days reading a lot more than normal. While I wouldn’t mind reading beach side at an all-inclusive resort in Mexico in the middle of February, I’ve been reading at home. But, regardless of sand or water, these 3 beach reads are the perfect light-hearted and captivating books to escape reality right now!
DIY Nautical Shelves
Do you ever have those ideas that sound weird? I told my husband I wanted to put wall shelves up in our guest bedroom and hot glue rope to the brackets. He’s used to me having weird ideas so I didn’t have to push much. But with weird ideas, sometimes they fail. This, however, is my new favorite. It was so easy to make these DIY nautical shelves and they make such an impact in the room!
Mask Necklace Holder – Multiple Ideas
Well it seems masks are here to stay for awhile. And there’s nothing better than taking it off the minute you walk outside. But I’ve had some close calls dropping mine. Fumbling with removing a mask and putting sunglasses on, often while holding a bag and keys. It’s not ideal that’s for sure. If only there was a holder to keep the mask handy when not wearing it. Enter the mask necklace holder!

Treadmill Table 2.0
What is it about treadmills that make them so unappealing on the eyes? Don’t get me wrong, they are an amazing machine but they don’t really go with any decor. Well, except maybe a gym’s decor. Not the point. A few years ago I got an old treadmill for free. And I mean old. It doesn’t even have a cup holder or a place to put a book so it certainly can’t hold a phone. So we made a table for it. But it’s time for a table upgrade. Hence, treadmill table 2.o.
Life Updates Summer 2020
Is it really July?! I can’t believe how fast the past month has flown by! We’ve celebrated 3 birthdays and Father’s Day with Landon’s family. The one free weekend in between all that my parents came for a visit. We hadn’t seen them since the end of February so it was so nice! With all the gatherings, we had less free time but we still stayed busy with some landscaping. Here’s what we’ve been doing with Summer 2020!

I Was Anastasia Book Review
This is nothing like the Disney version of Anastasia Romanov. It is so much better! Written by Arial Lawhon and well researched historical accuracy, I cannot recommend this book enough. I only saw the Disney film a few times as a child and I don’t recall learning about Tsar Nicholas II and the Romanov family in history class. The book tells their story with many historical facts (I googled a lot while reading) while also being a compelling fictional read.
