Due to my hip surgery, I won’t be able to play golf this year. But that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy a golf themed centerpiece on our kitchen table! It was also a way to reuse things from our wedding that otherwise wouldn’t see the light of day. This could easily be recreated on a smaller scale to fill many tables for a bridal shower or golf themed wedding.

DIY Floating Frame for Vinyl Decals
Sometimes you DIY because no one makes what you want. And sometimes you DIY because it’s more affordable. Then other times, it’s a combination of both, like this DIY floating frame for vinyl decals. I could not find a floating frame the right size for my laundry room decal and I really didn’t want to pay for a custom one. So I took a frame my mom no longer wanted and made it into a floating frame easily and wallet friendly!
Torch Lamp Makeover
I have this corner in my home office that I have big plans for. The first step is to get a floor lamp. I had this old purple from my teenage bedroom but I didn’t want the torch light. Or the purple. A handful of years ago I had recovered a lamp shade that I suspended from my apartment ceiling for more light over my kitchen table. The lamp shade was the right coloring for my office, so I decided to marry the two together for a torch lamp makeover.
DIY Sunglasses Holder
I think I jinxed it. I made this great DIY sunglasses holder and since then all we’ve gotten is rain and snow. Then again, that means I’m not wearing my sunglasses so I guess it works out they have such a nice place to hang.
DIY West Elm Inspired Hook Rack
A couple weeks ago I shared our laundry room reveal. Last year when we were planning the space, I fell in love with a hook rack from West Elm. There were two problems though: it was $200 and it was in brass (we wanted silver). The lovely hook rack went on sale a few times and I almost pulled the trigger a few times. But I just couldn’t justify the price if I had to repaint the hook tips.
Laundry Room Reveal
It’s done! Our laundry room has cabinets and a bench and shoe storage! The only thing missing is a self running washer and dryer but I don’t think those are on the market. Anyway, we didn’t complete this room when we were building our house to save a little money but I also wasn’t sure I could predict our needs until we used this room to enter and exit our home every day. Last March I shared the three design layouts we were considering for this space. And now it’s a reality!
